Und die niedertraechtigen Verwandten daheim warn froh, dass sie die Hungerleider los warn (der Erstgeborene kriegt den Hof der zweite, der dritte kriegt nix). Mit a bissl Kopfgeld murksten sie dann die Einheimischen, die Indianer ab. Irgendwie sind die Amis mit ihrem Massenmord klar gekommen...
Robert Stevenson noted in his diary in 1879 during the crossing to America how he listened to them: The emigrants want to go to America because they were told that there they get two puddings a week for free. And the mean relatives at home were glad to get rid of the starving people (the first born gets the farm, the second, the third gets nothing). With a little bit of bounty, they then murmured off the natives, the Indians. Somehow the Americans got along with their mass murder... jumping in Pudding twice a week; killing the Indians.
